Hamburgers

What in God's name has happened to hamburger meat?....
Years ago you went into your local butcher and asked for
a pound or two of hamburger meat......If it was not
pre-ground, in the showcase, he would go into the cooler
and get some beef scraps and grind it in front of you......

Gone are those olde days.....Now you go to the supermarket
and buy it packaged in a plastic tray or if you desire
it in a "tube" (packaged by an unknown food processor and
subject to "recall" at a moments notice.).....

No matter which way you buy it, these days, it seems when
you go to cook it there is this unknown fluid which it
produces.....Is it fat or is it water?.....The grand question!......
In any case a 1/2 pound patty becomes a 1/4 pound patty
when it is cooked.....And let us not get into the "prepackaged
burger" meat which contains fillers and other ground up
steer body parts......Pumps
