Things Have Changed
Yesterday I saw a young teenager try to jump a curb with
his bicycle in a strip mall.....We have all done the same thing...
We have all pushed an action to the "edge"....Today they
are calling them "X-Games".....
So our teenager tries to make the jump with his bike....
He fails....The rear tire and rim hit the curb....He breaks
the "bead" on his tire and looses all air.....Disgruntled he
stops....Feels the tire with his foot and confirms that he
has lost air pressure in the tire....He now knows that he will
have to "trudge" home....Alas, but no......
He takes out his "cell phone"....Now in panic mode he tries
more than three times, on his phone, for someone to come
and rescue him...."Mommy, Daddy, anyone, please".....
"Trudging home" is no longer a modern option.....Pumps
his bicycle in a strip mall.....We have all done the same thing...
