Suggested Retail Price

We all know that a "suggested retail price" is a retailer's
dream....They would like to charge all their customers this
listed price and make the great profits which go along with
the "suggested retail".....

Today I purchased a 2006 calendar which was printed in
China....Sale price was $1.00 plus tax....On the back of the
calendar was printed the following.....Suggested Retail Price
US $9.95 CAN $13.95.......

This pricing even goes against my "mark-up" theory.....I
suspect that the retailer even made $0.50 profit on the
sale of each calendar, if not more....Oh, by the way, it was
a nice calendar to boot.....Proves once more that you have
to know an item's "true" value.....Pumps
