Focus

You spend over fifty years behind the wheel of a vehicle
and all of a sudden they want you to go back to Driver's
Ed.....The latest edition (Sept/Oct 2005) of the AARP
magazine contains the newest article on the subject.....

Paragraphs entitled, "act your age", "focus", "stay on
the ball" and keep out of harm's way" are all intended
for the senior to become a better defensive driver when
everyone else on the road between 16 and 64 is
AGGRESSIVE and does not give a "hoot" about you.....
If anything they get annoyed that you are driving
PROPERLY.....

We know that our neck hurts if we have to turn it
quickly....We know that our "reaction" time has slowed...
We also know to keep two hands on the wheel....
Unfortunately the young'ins see no need for this
driving method....It interferes with their cell phone
calls, lipstick applications and burger eating....

Heaven forbid you should do the speed limit and keep
one car's distance for every 10 mph of speed.....
At the speed of 50 mph there is room for at least
4 burger chompers and one cell phone user to get
in front of you, and then do 40 mph because they
suddenly feel "pre-occupied"......Pumps
