** to ***

All our newspapers now contain a TV listings page....(Much to
the dismay of TV Guide magazine....

These TV listing contain the star rating of the movies to be
shown that day or week....Has anyone noticed that some of
the recent movies releases which did not get good ratings when
shown in the theaters now have better ratings when shown on
TV, as reruns....It seems that the "star" is upgraded by
at least "one-half" or a "full" one...(My base source is Leonard
Maltin"s Movie Guide)....

This ratings adjustment does not apply to older movies....It is
just the releases in the past 5-10 years....I suspect the reason
this is being done is because the TV Network must pay to
show the film...An increased rating may attract more viewers...
