Pumps' Perplexities

In watching the History Channel lately, I was made aware of
the fact that the news media has not changed, at least since
the Civil War...

One event involved a Lt. William B. Cushing and his raid on
a Confederate iron clad ship in the Roanoke River in North
Carolina...It appears that his "secret" raid plan was published in
the northern newspapers before he had a chance to conduct it....

The second involved the fact that General William T. Sherman
would not tell anyone regarding his plans to march on Atlanta,
Savannah or Columbia (SC) for fear the newspapers would
advise the enemy...

Has anything really changed with the modern day media still
doing the same thing...And, now you why they get annoyed
when no one wants to tell them anything...Pumps
