Beef Prices

Anyone notice that the price of beef, in the supermarkets,
has risen dramatically over the past six to nine months
in the United States...I wonder if this has anything to do
with the fact that Canada does not export one million head
of cattle to the US anymore?....

In May of 2003 there was a case of "mad cow" disease in one
imported cow...As a result a "ban" was placed on future
imports of Canadian live stock...The forces of supply and
demand have taken over in the industry and the prices
of beef have risen sharply...

I suspect that Canada will start to increase its own
processing production which will in turn decrease US
production...And prices will continue to rise...

It is amazing what one million cows can do...Pumps
